Itinerary for Antigua

Dates applicable December 2008 - May 2009

Antigua & it's sister island Barbuda offer an mass of opportunities to visit historical sites, bleached beaches, beach bars and lively resorts. The hospitality and amenties offered to yachts cruising this area provides easy in harbour stops or on-anchor evenings. A great starting point is Jolly Harbour Resort approximately 40 minutes from the airport. The Jolly Resort has one of the largest beaches along with a swimming pool, tennis courts and a fully serviced supermarket, where to start stocking up for your charter.

From Jolly Harbour a cruising sail around to the glory of Nelsons Dock Yard or English Harbour will provide your more party atmospheric holiday. On a Sunday evening it is recommended you dock in Nelson's Dockyard, or anchor off Galleon Beach, so that you can easily get to Shirley Heights. This is the historical look out point the British had over the island to spot intruders coming from afar. To watch the sunset with the sound of their traditional steel band and some rum punches is an experience not to be missed.

From there the islands are your oysters! It is best to chat through the next steps (if there are to be any) with your skipper and/or hostess. As mentioned the possibilities are endless, and therefore it can all be catered towards the holiday you desire.

Above are the highlights. If you wish to discuss an itinerary in more detail please call Louise on +44 (0) 1883 652722 as she has visited the area extensively in recent months.
